On August 14, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Trần Phước Hiền, chaired a meeting with the Department of Industry and Trade to review the results of key tasks in the first seven months of 2025 and direct the implementation of priorities for the coming period.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the Petroleum and Coal Department Đặng Hải Anh, leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, and representatives of relevant departments, agencies, and localities.
According to the Department of Industry and Trade’s report, industrial production continued to show positive growth. The province’s industrial production index in the first seven months of 2025 increased by 14.06 per cent compared to the same period last year.
The trade and services sector also achieved positive results. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue were estimated at VNĐ 76,584 billion, reaching 60.6 per cent of the 2025 plan and up 13.7 per cent year-on-year.
Import turnover reached 53.4 per cent of the annual plan, up 10.9 per cent over the same period, while export turnover reached 45.5 per cent.

The Department has also streamlined its apparatus for stable operation, promptly implemented directives from the central and provincial governments, advised the Provincial People’s Committee on policies in the industry and trade sector, and coordinated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to develop the proposal for the National Oil Refining and Energy Center at Dung Quất Economic Zone.
In his concluding remarks, Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền commended the Department for its achievements, particularly the significant increase in the provincial industrial production index and the quick stabilization of its organizational structure.

He requested the Department to review all assigned tasks, propose specific solutions to meet targets, strengthen market management, combat smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods, and ensure a healthy business environment.
He also urged prompt resolution of business recommendations within its authority, proactive investor support, inspections of hydropower safety, and the development of emergency response plans for dams, reservoirs, and downstream areas during construction.
