On September 6, at Mỏ Cày commune, the Provincial People’s Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dung Quất – Sa Huỳnh Coastal Road Project, phase 2b (Km76+230 – Km82+000). This is one of the key projects to celebrate the 1st Provincial Party Congress, 2025–2030 term.

The 5.77 km section starts at the ĐH37 intersection in Mỏ Cày commune, passes through Lân Phong commune, and ends at Trà Câu ward.
The road is designed to grade-3 standards with a 12m roadbed, 11m-wide asphalt surface, and a total investment of over VNĐ 98 billion from central and provincial budgets.
The project, managed by the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Transport Construction Investment Project’s Management Board, is expected to be completed in 2025–2026.
The coastal road, with a total length of 109 km and an investment of about VNĐ 5,600 billion, is part of Việt Nam’s coastal road master plan. Phase 1 (over 30 km) has been completed with nearly VNĐ 1,500 billion, while phase 2 (nearly 70 km) is under construction from 2018 to 2025.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, emphasized that this section marks an important step toward completing 56.34 km of the road in Quảng Ngãi. The project will improve strategic infrastructure, ease traffic on National Highway 1, and strengthen national defense and security while connecting the Dung Quất Economic Zone with the Sa Huỳnh tourism area.

He called on local authorities to support land clearance, residents to cooperate with project implementation, and contractors to accelerate construction with the highest responsibility, ensuring quality, safety, and environmental protection.
The province will continue to mobilize resources and seek central government support to complete the remaining sections of the project, Sâm stressed.
