Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng conducts a field inspection of the projects

QUẢNG NGÃI –Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Nguyễn Công Hoàng, conducted a field inspection of the projects, including Chu Văn An Road and its adjacent residential area, the new urban area serving resettlement for the second section of the embankment project, and Thạch Bích Green Park.

Hoàng asked the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the Provincial Land Fund Development Centre and Nghĩa Lộ Ward authorities to strengthen coordination, resolve compensation and site clearance issues, and expedite procedures for contractor selection and construction of the remaining components.

For the Chu Van An Road and residential area project, covering the section from Ngô Sỹ Liên Street to Hai Bà Trưng Street, the route is approximately 376 metres long, with a residential area of 6.82 hectares on both sides.

To date, more than 33,000 square metres of land has been cleared, representing around 40 per cent of the total area requiring acquisition.

However, difficulties remain regarding compensation policies and resettlement land prices.

Units report project  progress at the inspection

Hoàng asked the investor and relevant agencies to review compensation plans in accordance with regulations, arrange suitable resettlement land and strengthen public communication to build consensus among residents.

Sections where site clearance has been completed should be prioritised for road surfacing to facilitate travel during the Lunar New Year holiday.

The new urban area serving resettlement for the second section of the embankment covers 8.2 hectares and includes 317 resettlement plots.

Approximately 0.6 hectares remain uncleared, while some construction packages have expired and require additional procedures before work can resume.

Hoàng instructed relevant agencies to expedite land allocation to households whose compensation plans have been approved and repair essential infrastructure, particularly electricity, water supply and drainage systems, so residents can build homes and stabilise their lives.

Meanwhile, Thạch Bích Green Park covers approximately 8.1 hectares, with a total investment of VNĐ900 billion (about US$36 million).

Nearly 12,000 square metres of land has been handed over. The project continues to face difficulties in verifying land origins, land-use history and existing conditions, as well as resolving compensation plans from previous projects.

The provincial leader called for closer coordination among specialised agencies and local authorities to verify land records, promptly address residents' petitions in accordance with regulations and accelerate site clearance.

He stressed that project owners and relevant agencies must clearly define responsibilities and timelines, proactively resolve issues within their authority and ensure that delays do not affect overall implementation.
