Quảng Ngãi — The provincial Steering Committee for Key Projects and Socio-economic Development Initiatives convened its second meeting on Monday afternoon under the chair of Hồ Văn Niên, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Steering Committee.

According to the report presented by the Department of Construction, the province is currently implementing 11 public-invested projects. These projects are moving forward with ongoing land clearance, compensation, resettlement and construction works.

At the meeting, departments, sectors and localities reported on project progress, difficulties encountered, and recommendations on accelerating the implementation of key and high-impact socio-economic projects across the province.

Concluding the session, Secretary Hồ Văn Niên stressed that key projects play a crucial role in driving the province’s socio-economic development.

He requested departments, sectors, local authorities and project investors to enhance responsibility, strengthen coordination and promptly remove obstacles—especially those related to compensation and land clearance—to accelerate project timelines.

He assigned the Department of Construction to identify projects eligible for immediate implementation and proactively propose solutions to expedite progress, aiming for the earliest possible completion.

The Provincial People’s Committee was tasked with intensifying oversight and directing departments and localities to strictly fulfil assigned duties, particularly regarding the progress of major projects and projects with widespread impact.

Localities hosting project sites were instructed to establish their own steering committees to monitor, urge and address difficulties to ensure timely implementation.

For non-budget projects, Secretary Niên emphasised the need to create the most favourable conditions for investors in terms of procedures and timelines, especially for projects that serve as development drivers for the province.

He also called on all levels and sectors to step up communication and public outreach, ensuring local residents understand the purposes and significance of project investments, thereby gaining public support and cooperation for land clearance and implementation.
