Quảng Ngãi, November 19ᵗʰ — The Provincial People’s Committee of Quảng Ngãi and the Việt Nam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) on Wednesday afternoon signed a cooperation agreement on science and technology development, innovation, and digital transformation for the 2025–2030 period.
Under the agreement, both sides will collaborate across five priority areas: policy and strategic development; digital infrastructure and cybersecurity; application of science and technology in governance; technological application in socio-economic development; and research and deployment of digital technologies.
The Provincial People’s Committee will facilitate VNPT in introducing its telecommunications, IT and digital service solutions, as well as participating in programmes, projects and research initiatives that align with provincial needs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation.
VNPT committed to prioritising the introduction of its most advanced and suitable digital solutions in Quảng Ngãi, in line with orientations of the Party and the State, and tailored to the province’s specific conditions and development level.
During the 2021–2025 period, the Provincial People’s Committee and VNPT also cooperated under a previous agreement, achieving notable results in developing telecommunications infrastructure, 4G and 5G networks; administrative procedure processing systems (VNPT iGate); document management and administration platforms (VNPT iOffice); the provincial LGSP data integration platform; civil servant management systems; provincial reporting platforms; mobile citizen applications; intelligent operations centres; VNPT-HIS medical management software; and various other digital government solutions.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang acknowledged and highly valued VNPT’s partnership and contributions in recent years.
He affirmed that the new 2025–2030 cooperation agreement reflects the trust, responsibility and determination of both sides in establishing a strong digital foundation for provincial development.
He emphasised that the agreement is an essential step toward realising Quảng Ngãi’s goals for digital government, digital economy and digital society in the new period.
The province, he noted, is committed to creating the most favourable conditions for the rapid, effective and substantive implementation of all agreed-upon cooperation activities.
Quảng Ngãi identifies science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation as decisive factors for its future growth.
Innovation—particularly in AI, big data, technological testbeds and the encouragement of enterprise-led research, development and commercialisation—is considered a core driver of new economic momentum.
On this occasion, VNPT also provided VNĐ 1 billion to support social welfare programmes in the province.
