On November 7, Deputy Prime Minister Trần Hồng Hà chaired an online meeting with Thừa Thiên Huế, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Ngãi, Gia Lai, and Đắk Lắk to review response efforts to Typhoon Kalmaegi (Typhoon No.13).
At the Quảng Ngãi bridge point, attendees included Senior Lieutenant General Phạm Trường Sơn, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Việt Nam People’s Army; representatives from the Ministry of National Defense and Military Region 5; and provincial leaders led by Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang and Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển.
Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang reported that Quảng Ngãi had set up four forward command posts and six inspection teams, relocating more than 89,000 residents to safe areas. Heavy rain and high tides caused flooding and landslides in several locations, damaged houses, and disrupted traffic, but local forces were promptly mobilized to restore access and support affected communities.
