Transport infrastructure is vital for sustainable and comprehensive development

Dung Quat is a key multi-sector economic zone set to become a national energy and petrochemical hub.

Prioritizing transport infrastructure is vital for its sustainable and comprehensive development.

Dung Quat Economic Zone has a convenient transportation network, including road, waterway, air, and railway connections, enhancing the competitiveness of businesses.

The deep-water Dung Quat Port and Chu Lai Airport play key roles in international trade for the central and central highlands regions. With seven major ports, businesses benefit from low transportation costs, helping reduce production costs.

In terms of road connectivity, key projects include Hoang Sa - Doc Soi Road, Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road, and the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway.

However, the Trì Bình - Dung Quat ring road is not yet connected to the expressway.

The completion of the Dung Quat - Trì Bình interchange will provide direct access to the North-South Expressway, forming important east-west traffic axes in line with the overall planning of the zone by 2045.

In terms of local transportation infrastructure, the zone currently has 29 roads totaling nearly 50 km.

However, many of these roads are outdated, in poor condition, and lack proper connectivity.

To address this, a 350 billion VND upgrade project has been approved for 2024–2027, focusing on key road sections.

This project aims to improve traffic infrastructure, ensuring smoother connectivity within Dung Quat and surrounding areas.

Additionally, a proposal has been made to include the QL24C road in the mid-term public investment plan for 2026–2030 to meet the increasing transportation needs due to major projects in the area.
