On July 14, the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Council convened its second session of the 13th tenure (2021–2026). The meeting was chaired by Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tuy and Vice Chairpersons Nguyễn Cao Phúc, Nguyễn Thế Hải, and Nghe Minh Hồng.

Attending the session were Central Party Committee member and Provincial Party Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, along with 79 council delegates and representatives from provincial departments and agencies.

In his opening remarks, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tuy emphasized that this was the first regular session following the administrative merger at the provincial level, marking an important milestone in consolidating the apparatus and advancing development goals.

Despite challenges, Quảng Ngãi has maintained socio-economic stability. In the first half of 2025, GRDP grew by 11.51 per cent - the highest in the country.
Several development indicators exceeded the set targets. Budget revenue reached 47.3 per cent of the annual estimate, and tourism saw strong recovery, with number of visitors up 17 per cent and revenue up 42.8 per cent.
The session will deliberate and adopt 12 key resolutions covering socio-economic development, public investment, budget, national defense and security, as well as review supervision reports and voter petitions.

In her directive speech, Provincial Party Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân praised the achievements and urged departments to identify development bottlenecks and propose breakthrough solutions to fully leverage the province’s geographic, infrastructure, and resource advantages.
She emphasized priorities for the remainder of the year, including institutional reform, administrative modernization, digital transformation, workforce development, improvements in healthcare and education, social security, and acceleration of public investment disbursement.
She also called for careful preparations for the upcoming Party Congresses for the 2025–2030 term.
