With a temperate climate, fertile soil, and abundant land resources, Bờ Y has strong potential for high-tech agriculture, cold storage, and processing facilities for export via the border gate.

The commune also boasts advantages for renewable energy and eco-tourism, including community-based tourism along the border.

Since July 1, 2025, the local government structure has been consolidated and is operating smoothly. Officials have been assigned clearly defined responsibilities, administrative procedures are handled properly, and public services for citizens and businesses have improved.

At the working session, leaders of the Bờ Y International Border Gate Border Guard Station reported that the unit manages over 20 kilometers of border with Laos and Cambodia. The station has fulfilled its duties of safeguarding national sovereignty, maintaining political security and social order along the border, and actively collaborating with local authorities in patrols, surveillance, and crime prevention.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân acknowledged and praised the proactive and responsible efforts of Bờ Y commune authorities and the Border Guard force in state management, economic development, and national defense and security.
