On August 15, HD Hyundai Eco Vina Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for its environmentally friendly independent tank manufacturing project in Dung Quất Economic Zone, Vạn Tường commune.

The ceremony was attended by Standing Deputy Prime Minister Phạm Gia Túc, leaders of central ministries and agencies, and leaders of Quảng Ngãi province, including Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm.

With a total investment of US$116 million, the project covers more than 26 hectares and is expected to be completed within about 12 months. It aims to expand production capacity and manufacture environmentally friendly independent tanks for domestic and international markets, contributing to the development of heavy industry and mechanical engineering in the Dung Quất Economic Zone.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Director of HD Hyundai Eco Vina Choi Seung Hyun thanked the Vietnamese Government and relevant agencies for their support, and committed to implementing the project on schedule, ensuring quality, safety and environmental protection. The company will also continue investing in technology and developing high-quality human resources.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm said the project marks a new milestone in the development of mechanical engineering and the marine economy in the Central Việt Nam key economic region.

He highly appreciated HD Hyundai’s global capabilities and reputation in heavy industry and energy, noting that the project is aligned with the Government’s and Quảng Ngãi’s strategy for green and sustainable growth.
The project is expected to maintain employment for around 1,500 workers and create opportunities to recruit an additional 1,500 local workers, while contributing to State budget revenues and the development of supporting industries.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm asked Vạn Tường commune and the Dung Quất Economic Zone and Quảng Ngãi Industrial Parks Authority to closely accompany and support HD Hyundai Eco Vina in implementing the project on schedule and in compliance with regulations.
Quảng Ngãi will continue to improve its investment environment, develop infrastructure and support businesses in training and recruiting local workers. The province also expects the company to apply green and clean standards and build a model “green factory” in line with Việt Nam’s sustainable industrial development trend.
The PPC’s Chairman affirmed that the success of investors is the success of Quảng Ngãi, stressing that the project will further strengthen the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Việt Nam and Korea and promote increasingly substantive and sustainable cooperation between Quảng Ngãi and HD Hyundai.
