The Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee has approved the project titled "Supporting bicycles, scholarships, and water purifiers to schools and health stations facing difficult conditions in Sơn Tây Hạ Commune, Quảng Ngãi Province," funded by Madison Quakers Inc. (MQI).
The primary objectives and expected outcomes of the aid package are to improve learning, living, and healthcare conditions for students and residents in the mountainous area of Sơn Tây Hạ Commune; raise awareness about clean water usage and environmental protection; and contribute to local social welfare, the promotion of education, and community healthcare.
The project will be implemented from now until the end of September 2026, with a total capital of US$21,079(equivalent to VNĐ550,000,000).
Under the project, 100 scholarships worth VNĐ1 million each will be awarded to students with good or excellent academic records who are facing financial hardship, helping them purchase school supplies. In addition, 50 bicycles valued at VNĐ ,000,000 each will be provided to disadvantaged students, while 10 semi-industrial water purifiers (with a capacity of 150–180 liters/hour and a total value of VNĐ330,000,000) will be donated to schools and health stations in Sơn Tây Hạ Commune.
As assigned, the Provincial Red Cross Society is responsible for receiving, managing, and implementing the project, while coordinating with Madison Quakers Inc. and relevant agencies, units, and local authorities to execute the aid programme in accordance with the Government's Decree No. 313/2025/NĐ-CP dated December 8, 2025.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has been assigned to take the lead and coordinate with the Provincial Police to strengthen the management of the operations, cooperative relations, and aid mobilization activities of Madison Quakers Inc. in the locality, ensuring strict compliance with the provisions of the Government's Decree No. 58/2022/ND-CP dated August 31, 2022, regarding the registration and management of foreign non-governmental organizations in Việt Nam.
Currently, the Provincial Red Cross Society is developing an operational plan to implement the project activities as soon as possible and complete it by September 30, 2026.
