Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm chaired a meeting on August 19 with the Provincial Transport Construction Project Management Board to review project progress, public investment disbursement and key tasks for the coming period.

The Board is currently managing 61 projects, including two national key projects and six provincial key projects. The Quảng Ngãi - Hoài Nhơn section of the North-South Expressway has been completed and put into operation since April 2026. Other major projects, including Hoàng Sa - Dốc Sỏi Road, Dung Quất - Sa Huỳnh Coastal Road, and the Thạch Bích Bridge - Tịnh Phong Road, are being accelerated.
As of August 17, 2026, the Board had disbursed 36.1 per cent of its 2026 public investment capital plan, while disbursement of central-budget capital had reached 100 per cent.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm stressed that transport infrastructure is the “lifeblood” of the economy and called for stronger efforts to remove bottlenecks, accelerate project implementation and achieve 100 per cent public investment disbursement.

He requested the Project Management Board, relevant agencies and localities to adopt more proactive working methods, promptly resolve issues within their authority and avoid delays. The Board must review and classify all projects, establish detailed weekly, monthly and quarterly schedules, and complete the plan by August 25. Contractors must mobilize maximum manpower, equipment and materials, increase work shifts and take advantage of favorable weather to accelerate construction before the rainy season.
The Chairman also directed agencies to speed up site clearance and resettlement, ensure legitimate interests and stable living conditions for affected residents, and review the capacity of all contractors. Contractors failing to meet requirements must be handled promptly.
For key transport projects, he requested continued efforts to remove obstacles to the North-South high-speed railway, complete procedures for the construction of Trà Khúc 1 Bridge, and accelerate the remaining site clearance for the upgrading of National Highway 24B, section Km23-Km29. Relevant agencies were instructed to strengthen coordination and ensure that major projects stay on schedule.
