On August 22, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm conducted a field inspection and reviewed progress for two projects: the VSIP I Quảng Ngãi Industrial, Urban and Service Complex and the VSIP II Quảng Ngãi Industrial Park Infrastructure Development and Business Project (Phase 1).

The VSIP I Quảng Ngãi project covers approximately 603.63 hectares in Thọ Phong commune, with total investment of more than VNĐ2.936 trillion (approximately US$139.854 million). Site clearance has reached over 94 per cent, while more than 83.8 per cent of the land has been leased. The industrial park has attracted more than 40 domestic and foreign investment projects, with total registered investment exceeding US$1.4 billion.
The VSIP mixed-use service area component covers approximately 40.5 hectares, with site clearance and land allocation or leasing reaching over 92.6 per cent. The investor has completed site grading, technical infrastructure and a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 400 cubic meters per day.

The VSIP II Quảng Ngãi Industrial Park project (Phase 1) covers approximately 497.7 hectares in Đông Sơn commune, with a total investment of about VNĐ3.737 trillion (US$160.93 million). Compensation plans have been approved for 147.68 hectares, with more than 142.3 hectares already compensated.
At the meeting, relevant departments, agencies, local authorities and VSIP Quảng Ngãi Co., Ltd. reviewed difficulties related to compensation, site clearance, resettlement and relevant procedures and proposed solutions to accelerate project implementation.

Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm commended the efforts of relevant agencies, localities and the investor, particularly their coordination in site clearance and resolving bottlenecks. He requested all sides to closely coordinate, promptly address outstanding issues and accelerate compensation, site clearance and related procedures in accordance with regulations and project schedules.
For VSIP II Quảng Ngãi, he requested relevant agencies to develop a specific plan to complete site clearance for the entire project area according to schedule, proactively address emerging issues and accelerate the development of resettlement areas.
Regarding resettlement in the Dung Quất Economic Zone, the Chairman asked the Dung Quất Economic Zone and Quảng Ngãi Industrial Parks Authority to develop a long-term master plan, while creating a clean land fund to facilitate investment attraction. Resettlement areas should be developed in a coordinated and model-oriented manner, with essential infrastructure and sustainable livelihoods for residents.

Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm also asked VSIP Quảng Ngãi Co., Ltd. to promptly complete documents for necessary adjustments and prioritize strategic, high-tech and land-efficient industries with high added value. The company should maximize occupancy of handed-over land and develop a long-term vision for future VSIP projects, thereby contributing to Quảng Ngãi’s socio-economic development.
He affirmed that the province will continue to accompany and support businesses, creating favorable conditions for investment and production. Business satisfaction, he noted, is an important measure of the quality and effectiveness of local governance and a key factor in improving the investment environment and the province’s PCI ranking.
