As part of the working trip to Ia Đal commune, on July 26, a delegation of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Standing Committee, led by Provincial Party Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân, visited the proposed site for the Hồ Le sub-border gate.
At the site, officers from the Hồ Le Border Guard Station and representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs briefed the delegation on the current status of the border area, including geographic features and natural conditions surrounding the proposed border gate.
Located adjacent to the Cambodia border, the area holds strategic importance for national defense and security and offers promising potential for trade and socio-economic development.
In recent years, the Border Guard forces have closely coordinated with local authorities and functional agencies to ensure border patrol, security, and public order.
Secretary Bùi Thị Quỳnh Vân commended the officers and soldiers of the Hồ Le Border Guard Station for their efforts in safeguarding national border sovereignty and actively contributing strategic recommendations related to border affairs.
She emphasized that the proposal to open the Hồ Le sub-border Gate is of great strategic significance, not only for maintaining national defense and security, but also for boosting cross-border trade and promoting regional economic growth.
Vân called on relevant agencies to continue reviewing and finalizing legal documents, thoroughly assess key factors such as infrastructure, administrative procedures, and zoning plans, and work closely with central ministries and agencies to advance the process following regulations.
