On the morning of July 30, Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police Party Committee held its 1st Congress for the 2025–2030 term.
The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General Phạm Thế Tùng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Central Public Security Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security; U Huấn, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Quảng Ngãi National Assembly Delegation, and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; along with other provincial leaders.
During the 2020–2025 term, the Provincial Police Party Committee made significant progress by renewing leadership methods, closely aligning with directives from the Central Party, Ministry of Public Security, and Provincial Party Committee.
The Committee effectively fulfilled its advisory role, ensuring political security and social order while contributing to local socio-economic and foreign affairs development.
The police force also played a pivotal role in COVID-19 prevention and control, earning commendation from authorities and citizens alike. The unit was awarded the Third-Class Feat of Arms Order by the State President.
Efforts to maintain border and maritime security were sustained, while crime prevention and suppression remained a high priority.
Crimes relating to social order dropped by over 19.7 per cent, and the crime-solving rate reached 87.4 per cent, both exceeding targets set by the previous Congress.
Investigations into corruption, economic, environmental, and drug-related crimes also saw improved results, with asset recovery in corruption cases surpassing 39.3 per cent.
The force took a proactive lead in implementing Project 06 on digital transformation, e-identification, and national population data. Public safety was further ensured through improved traffic and fire prevention measures.
Internal party building and organizational reform progressed, aligning with Ministry of Public Security streamlining efforts and enhancing capacity at all levels.
Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Minister Phạm Thế Tùng praised the unit’s achievements, describing the Quảng Ngãi police force as a core pillar in maintaining public order and supporting socio-economic growth.
He encouraged continued innovation, strong leadership, and a mindset shift from administrative management to public service.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, U Huấn, also recognized the police force’s important role and urged it to continue advising provincial leaders on early detection and resolution of potential security risks.
He emphasized the need for coordinated action, proactive policing, technological integration, and robust grassroots security measures to safeguard the province as it moves forward.
The Congress concluded with the announcement of leadership appointments for the new term.
Colonel Hồ Song Ân, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Director of Quảng Ngãi Provincial Police, was appointed Secretary of the Provincial Police Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.
