As part of the 33rd Diplomatic Conference, on August 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a plenary session on Party diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy. The session was attended by Politburo Member and Standing Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Trần Cẩm Tú, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Lê Hoài Trung, and leaders of central ministries and agencies.

At the Quảng Ngãi online venue, the session was chaired by Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province U Huấn.
Opening the session, Minister Lê Hoài Trung reaffirmed the important role of Party diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy within Việt Nam’s comprehensive diplomacy and called for enhanced coordination and greater effectiveness in implementing foreign affairs.

Delegates discussed the role of Party and people-to-people diplomacy in implementing the foreign policy of the 14th National Party Congress, strengthening relations with international partners, promoting national development, and expanding cooperation with neighboring countries and other key partners.

In his address, Standing Member of the Secretariat Trần Cẩm Tú stressed that Party diplomacy, State diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy are the three pillars of Việt Nam’s foreign affairs. He called for stronger coordination among the three pillars, deeper political trust with key partners, expanded cooperation in digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development, and the building of a highly capable diplomatic workforce to meet the requirements of the new era.
