On July 20, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee Y Ngọc, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Recovery and Identification of Martyrs' Remains, offered incense and flowers in tribute to fallen heroes before visiting and encouraging personnel carrying out DNA sampling at Đăk Pék Martyrs' Cemetery.

The delegation also included Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Y Thị Bích Thọ, representatives of the Provincial Military Command, local authorities and members of the Steering Committee.
During the solemn ceremony, the delegation observed a moment of silence and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and the defense of the nation.
Following the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc met with the DNA sampling team, commending their dedication and sense of responsibility.
She urged participating units to overcome difficulties, strictly follow technical procedures, ensure the quality of each DNA sample, and successfully fulfill assigned tasks to help identify unknown martyrs, meeting the expectations of their families and the public.
She also called on local authorities to continue coordinating with relevant agencies and mobilizing youth volunteers to maintain and beautify the cemetery grounds, reflecting the nation's enduring tradition of gratitude toward those who sacrificed for the country.

According to the plan, from July 13 to 27, authorities are collecting DNA samples from 254 unidentified martyrs' graves at Đăk Pék Martyrs' Cemetery, while digitizing, archiving and updating related data in accordance with regulations.
