Standing Vice Chairman Chairwoman Y Ngọc inspects potential martyrs’ burial sites in Đăk Pék and Dục Nông Communes

On July 21, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee Y Ngọc, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Recovery and Identification of Martyrs' Remains, conducted field inspections at several locations in Đăk Pék and Dục Nông communes based on information provided by research groups and historical witnesses regarding potential martyrs' burial sites.

The delegation included Y Thị Bích Thọ, Vice Chairwoman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, representatives of the Provincial Military Command, members of the Provincial Steering Committee, leaders of relevant departments and local authorities, as well as research groups, war veterans and historical witnesses.

At each site, research groups and witnesses provided first-hand information and verified historical records. The delegation examined the terrain, reviewed available information and assessed the feasibility of future search and recovery operations.

Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc highly appreciated the dedication and strong sense of responsibility demonstrated by  the research groups, war veterans and historical witnesses for collecting and providing valuable information to support the search for martyrs' remains.

She emphasized that these materials would serve as an important basis for competent authorities to continue verification, narrow down search areas and improve the effectiveness of recovery and identification efforts.

She requested the Provincial Military Command to work closely with relevant agencies, local authorities and research groups to further review archival records and cross-check witness information, thereby developing scientific, effective and regulation-compliant search and recovery plans.

Y Ngọc also urged local authorities to strengthen public awareness efforts and encourage residents, war veterans and historical witnesses to continue providing information on martyrs' burial sites, contributing to the successful implementation of the 500-Day Campaign to search for, recover and identify martyrs' remains.
