On July 28, the 14th Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Council for the 2026–2031 tenure convened its 6th session (extraordinary session) to consider and decide on personnel matters.

The session was chaired by Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy, together with Vice Chairpersons of the Provincial People's Council Nguyễn Cao Phúc, Nguyễn Thế Hải and Nghe Minh Hồng.
In his opening remarks, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyễn Đức Tuy announced that the Politburo had issued Decision No. 252-QĐNS/TW, dated July 18, 2026, appointing Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, as Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission.

The Party Central Committee Secretariat also issued Decision No. 269-QĐNS/TW, dated July 25, 2026, assigning Nguyễn Đức Tâm, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ministry of Finance Party Committee and Deputy Minister of Finance, to join the Provincial Party Executive Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term.
Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee introduced him as the candidate for Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2026–2031 term.
With unanimous support, the Provincial People's Council elected Nguyễn Đức Tâm as Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee for the 2026–2031 tenure.

In his speech, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm expressed his sincere gratitude to the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, generations of provincial leaders, officials, civil servants and the people of Quảng Ngãi for their trust and confidence.

Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm pledged to uphold the Party's principles, continuously improve his leadership capacity, foster solidarity and innovation within the provincial administration, and work with the collective leadership of the Provincial People's Committee to achieve rapid and sustainable development.
He emphasized priorities, including ensuring the effective operation of the two-tier local government model, streamlining the administrative apparatus, accelerating administrative reform and digital transformation, improving public service delivery, investing in strategic infrastructure, developing high-quality human resources, ensuring social welfare, strengthening national defense and security, and expanding international cooperation.
He also affirmed his commitment to building on the achievements of previous provincial leaders while mobilizing all available resources to promote double-digit economic growth, improve people's living standards, and make public well-being the ultimate measure of development.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tuy acknowledged the important contributions of former Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang during his tenure and expressed confidence that he would continue to excel in his new position.
Congratulating Nguyễn Đức Tâm on his new position, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tuy expressed his belief that the new Chairman would quickly assume his responsibilities, capitalize on his leadership and management experience, and lead the Provincial People's Committee in effectively implementing socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks.
He also called on the provincial administration to maintain solidarity, innovation and accountability, effectively address development bottlenecks, unlock Quảng Ngãi's full potential, and fulfill the province's development goals for the 2026–2030 period.
