The National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee meet with Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee
The delegation was led by Nguyễn Hữu Toàn, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm and representatives of relevant provincial departments and agencies.
According to the Provincial Department of Finance, the preparation and allocation of the medium-term public investment plan for 2026–2030 and the 2026 public investment plan have been carried out in compliance with regulations.
The province has significantly reduced the number of projects to concentrate resources on strategic transport infrastructure, interregional connectivity, economic zones and projects with broad development impacts.
Central budget-funded projects have been reduced by 54.2 per cent, while locally funded projects have decreased by 70.5 per cent.
For the 2026 public investment plan, the total capital assigned by the Prime Minister stands at VNĐ8.017 trillion, and the province has allocated 100 per cent of the plan.
As of August 31, total disbursement reached approximately VNĐ3.061 trillion, equivalent to 38.2 per cent of the assigned capital plan.
The province also reported that State budget revenue during the first eight months of 2026 reached VNĐ24.04 trillion, or 71.5 per cent of the central government-assigned estimate.
Full-year revenue is estimated at approximately VNĐ34.514 trillion, equivalent to 102.6 per cent of the estimate.
However, Quảng Ngãi continues to face difficulties related to site clearance, land-use revenue, local budget balancing and the handover of transport infrastructure and projects from district-level authorities.
The province proposed that the Central Government provide funding for the Quảng Ngãi–Kon Tum Expressway and the Dung Quất–Sa Huỳnh Coastal Road.
It also requested solutions concerning the carryover of national target programme funds and additional funding for newly issued central policies.
The province further proposed a special mechanism for the Dung Quất Economic Zone, including permission to retain 70 per cent of increased central budget revenue from import and export activities.
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm addresses the meeting
Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm affirmed that Quảng Ngãi is determined to achieve its socio-economic development targets, aiming for 9 per cent growth in 2026 and double-digit growth in 2027.
He emphasized that the province would prioritize key projects, avoid scattered investment and resolve project-related difficulties during 2026.
Deputy Chairman Nguyễn Hữu Toàn recognizes the province’s efforts.
Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Economic and Financial Committee Nguyễn Hữu Toàn acknowledged the province’s efforts and asked Quảng Ngãi to review project priorities, strengthen site clearance and address technical bottlenecks to accelerate public investment disbursement.
He also encouraged the province to explore new growth drivers and promote the mobilization of private investment resources.
