On December 9, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính chaired a meeting with ministries, central agencies, and localities to review progress of the “Quang Trung Campaign” - a rapid effort to rebuild and repair houses severely damaged or destroyed by recent storms and floods.
Hồ Văn Niên, Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Đỗ Tâm Hiển, Vice Chairman attended the meeting at the Quảng Ngãi venue.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, recent storms and floods have caused widespread destruction, collapsing 1,635 houses nationwide (including 58 in Quảng Ngãi, 674 in Gia Lai, and 639 in Đắk Lắk) and damaging 39,461 others.
By December 8, construction of 971 new houses had been started, 479 completed, and 34,627 houses repaired.
In Quảng Ngãi, Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang reported that 29 of 58 new houses have been completed, 12 are under construction, and the remainder will begin soon, with a commitment to finish by January 20, 2026. Repairs of severely damaged houses are also underway, with 66 completed and 49 in progress.

He called for greater speed and responsibility, aiming to complete all new houses for displaced families by January 31, 2026, and repairs by December 31, 2025.
He also urged mobilization of all social resources with the spirit: “"whoever has something helps, whoever has property helps property, whoever has labor helps labor, whoever has little helps little, whoever has a lot helps a lot, wherever is convenient, help there".”
