On August 10, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển and leaders of relevant provincial departments and agencies worked with the People’s Committee of Thọ Phong Commune on compensation and site clearance for the VSIP I Quảng Ngãi Industrial, Urban and Service Complex.

According to the commune, 122 compensation, support and resettlement plans have been approved, with 94.29 per cent of the approved compensation paid. However, 31.96 hectares of the project’s total 559.89 hectares remain uncleared. Of this area, 7.98 hectares comprise agricultural land covered by approved compensation plans for which payments have yet to be made, while compensation plans for the remaining 23.97 hectares have yet to be approved. An additional 38.53 hectares has also been added to the project area.

Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển noted that site clearance remains behind schedule and instructed Thọ Phong Commune to complete clearance for the expanded area no later than September 2026 and the entire existing area by the end of 2026, with priority given to the Suối Cát improvement area.

He asked the commune to establish a detailed implementation plan, assign clear responsibilities and deadlines, and address each outstanding case in accordance with regulations. Greater efforts should also be made to communicate with and mobilize residents to build consensus on compensation and site clearance.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment was requested to coordinate with Thọ Phong Commune and the Land Fund Development Center to review compensation and resettlement dossiers and promptly resolve emerging difficulties. VSIP Quảng Ngãi was also asked to closely coordinate with local authorities and provide all necessary information to facilitate site clearance and ensure project progress.
