QUẢNG NGÃI —Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng, together with leaders of relevant departments and agencies, conducted an on-site inspection of the Hoàng Sa – Dốc Sỏi Road Project to review implementation progress and address difficulties in localities along the route, including Trương Quang Trọng Ward and the communes of Tịnh Khê, Thọ Phong, Bình Sơn, Vạn Tường, and Đông Sơn.

The project, with a total investment of VNĐ 3.5 trillion, spans 26.88 kilometres.

It begins at the intersection with the Trì Bình – Dung Quất Road and ends at the Hoàng Sa Road.

The main route covers an area of 172.16 hectares across six localities: Bình Sơn (35.51 ha), Vạn Tường (22.52 ha), Đông Sơn (51.39 ha), Thọ Phong (16.88 ha), Tịnh Khê (19.21 ha), and Trương Quang Trọng Ward (26.64 ha).

The project includes the construction of 10 resettlement areas with 648 land lots and one cemetery relocation site, as well as the use of 25 lots in the Liên Hiệp I (expanded) resettlement area in Trương Quang Trọng Ward for resettlement arrangements.

52 compensation plans have been approved for 71.29 out of 172.16 hectares (41.4 per cent), and 78.49 hectares (45.6 per cent) have been handed over for construction.

The completed construction value has reached VNĐ 642 billion out of VNĐ 2.382 trillion, or 27 per cent of the contracted construction value.

The major challenge remains land clearance delays, which have slowed down both construction and fund disbursement.

Local authorities have yet to complete several administrative and verification procedures related to land compensation.

After the inspection, Vice Chairman Hoàng requested departments, agencies, and localities along the route to strengthen coordination and promptly resolve obstacles in land clearance to ensure timely site handover and fund disbursement.

Local authorities are required to establish working groups to handle land issues, complete necessary documentation for the provincial Land Development Center to publicly post and approve the next compensation plans.

He emphasized that compensation, support, and resettlement must comply with regulations and be conducted transparently.

Local governments should enhance dialogue with residents, ensure their legal rights, and encourage cooperation to accelerate site clearance.

He also instructed investors and contractors to actively implement flood and storm prevention measures to ensure safety for workers, equipment, and construction works during the rainy season.
