Quang Ngai is determined to complete the goal of removing temporary houses and dilapidated houses in 2025

 

On January 12, Quang Ngai leaders led by Secretary of Provincial People’s Party, Bui Thi Quynh Van, attended the second session of the Steering Committee,  held online and chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Central Steering Committee for the removal of temporary houses and dilapidated houses nationwide.

Speaking at the meeting, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Bui Thi Quynh Van reported that Quang Ngai province has proactively established a Steering Committee to implement the program at all three levels, from the province to the district and commune levels.

The province has also organized the program to launch and mobilize funds to build houses for people.

The province has so far mobilized 242 billion VND, including funds supported by Binh Duong province and large corporations and enterprises in the central government as well as agencies, units, enterprises, and philanthropists in the province.

The province is also creative and flexible in its implementation so that each house will be worth over 100 million VND.

Reportedly, since the beginning of 2021, Quang Ngai has identified more than 10,800 houses that need to be repaired or rebuilt.

To date, the province has completed the construction and repair of 4,024 houses, with 6,827 houses still in need of construction.

Of the total, 4,370 houses need to be newly built and 2,457 houses need to be repaired.

In his direction, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of ministries, sectors and localities in implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.

He also commended the positive results of some localities, including Quang Ngai province.

From now until the end of 2025, the whole country still has about 240,000 houses to be completed, while the implementation time is very urgent.

He requested ministries and localities to focus on implementing the 350-day peak period to implement the program with focus and key points.

They were directed to closely follow the actual situation to have timely solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in order to ensure the program is implemented on schedule and with quality according to the set goals and requirements.

In addition, agencies and press agencies should strengthen further information and propaganda works to contribute to creating a competitive atmosphere in implementing the program.

The participation of the entire political system, together with the joint contributions from organizations, individuals and the community will create a strong resource to realize the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, bringing a stable life to the poor and families in difficult circumstances.

It is reported that as of January 6, 2025, the whole country has supported more than 76,300 houses to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

More than 42,100 houses have been inaugurated and more than 34,100 new houses have been started.
