Policy Credit supports social welfare in Quảng Ngãi

On October 21, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm chaired a meeting of the provincial Board of Representatives of the Việt Nam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) to review results for the third quarter and the first nine months of 2026 and outline tasks for the fourth quarter.

Scene of the meeting

Reportedly, policy credit operations continued to be implemented effectively, with the bank’s representative boards at all levels completing 100 per cent of their inspection and supervision plans.

As of September 30, 2026, total policy credit funding exceeded VNĐ13.04 trillion, up more than VNĐ1.18 trillion from the beginning of the year. Outstanding loans surpassed VNĐ13 trillion, serving 177,410 borrower households and achieving 100 per cent of the assigned annual credit growth target.

During the first nine months, disbursements reached VNĐ2.97 trillion, benefiting approximately 44,000 borrower households, while debt collections totaled VNĐ1.811 trillion.

The loans helped poor households and policy beneficiaries expand production, create jobs for 12,075 workers, support overseas employment under contracts, and provide educational loans for disadvantaged students. Funding also supported rural clean water and sanitation facilities and social housing.

Credit quality remained stable, with the overdue debt ratio below the national average. Loans managed through socio-political organizations totaled nearly VNĐ12.99 trillion, accounting for 99.88 per cent of outstanding loans and serving 177,134 borrowers.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm concludes the meeting

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm praised the results achieved, emphasizing that policy credit had made a practical contribution to sustainable poverty reduction, job creation, social welfare and provincial socio-economic development.

He also called on provincial agencies, state-funded enterprises and provincial public financial funds to open and use payment accounts at VBSP, helping mobilize idle capital for policy lending and strengthen social welfare across the province.
