On January 7, the Provincial Steering Committee 389 held a meeting to review their work on anti-smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods in 2024 and discussed tasks for 2025.
They reported on directing units to implement government directives, developing plans to prevent and combat illegal activities, and carrying out professional measures to detect and handle violations.
In 2024, they inspected and detected over 1,300 cases with 1,360 violators, while also promoting coordination and information exchange between departments and sectors.
The committee also effectively spread propaganda against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods through mass media.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien highly appreciated the positive results that agencies, units and functional forces achieved in the work of preventing and combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in 2024.
The efforts of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, together with its member agencies, have made an important contribution to stabilizing the market, protecting the rights of consumers, while ensuring security and order, promoting the socio-economic development of the province.
In the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien requested the member agencies of the Provincial Steering Committee 389 to continue to thoroughly grasp and strictly implement the provisions of the law, directives of the Government, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee 389, and the Provincial People's Committee on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and proactively develop plans and solutions to combat smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in accordance with the situation and requirements of the task.
At the same time, he asked them to strengthen propaganda and dissemination of laws to people so that they will not get involved in or assist in smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and acts of speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases, etc.. In addition they were asked to mobilize people to participate in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, and encourage people to participate in denouncingg crimes.
