Awarding scholarships to students
QUẢNG NGÃI — The 12th “Lighting Up Dreams” programme for Quảng Ngãi children and youth was held on September 12, providing scholarships and support to students facing difficult circumstances across the province.
The programme was jointly organized by the Quảng Ngãi Youth Union, Quảng Ngãi Radio and Television and the “Lighting Up Dreams” Scholarship Fund.
Established by Quảng Ngãi people and friends in Hồ Chí Minh City, the “Lighting Up Dreams” Scholarship Fund was officially licensed to operate in Quảng Ngãi in 2024.
It has provided scholarships and Tết gifts worth more than VNĐ2.75 billion to students and families facing difficulties in the province.
In 2026, the fund plans to award 150 scholarships to students who have overcome difficulties and achieved good academic results. Of these, 100 scholarships were presented at the programme, while the remaining 50 will go to disadvantaged students in nine border communes.
The fund will also provide monthly scholarships of VNĐ1 million each for nine months of the 2026–2027 school year to 26 students facing particularly difficult circumstances.
Provincial leaders and the Program Organizing Committee take a commemorative photo with the young people.
At the programme, five individuals were presented with Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for their contributions to the scholarship programme.
The organizers said the programme aims to provide practical support for disadvantaged students while encouraging their spirit of learning, resilience and determination to pursue their dreams.
The initiative also reflects the continued involvement of organizations, individuals and the community in supporting education and creating better learning opportunities for children and youth in Quảng Ngãi.
