On March 9, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển chaired a meeting to address issues related to land clearance for the VSIP Quảng Ngãi Industrial Park Infrastructure Investment and Business Project (VSIP Quảng Ngãi).
Reported by the Provincial Land Fund Development Center and VSIP Quảng Ngãi Co., Ltd., the project covers about 1,100 hectares, including VSIP Industrial Park 1 (about 600 hectares in Thọ Phong commune) and VSIP Industrial Park 2 (nearly 500 hectares in Đông Sơn commune). The project affects around 1,800 households, including 390 households requiring resettlement.
To date, VSIP Industrial Park 1 has approved 118 compensation plans covering 557.86 hectares (92 per cent), while the remaining 38 hectares have completed land and asset inventories. However, some households have received compensation but have not yet handed over land. For agricultural land, about 2.1 hectares have not yet had compensation plans prepared, and 35 cases of households have not received compensation or handed over land.
Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển requested the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to coordinate with Thọ Phong commune and relevant units to review legal documents and ensure residents’ legitimate rights. In cases where compensation policies have been fully implemented but residents still do not comply, authorities will prepare plans to enforce land recovery in accordance with the law. This must be completed by May 2026.
VSIP Quảng Ngãi Co., Ltd. was also asked to coordinate with local authorities to identify resettlement land funds of about 250 plots to serve affected households.
For VSIP Industrial Park II, about 102 hectares (20.62 per cent) have been compensated and cleared, with around 100.03 hectares already handed over to the investor.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển requested relevant agencies to review progress, accelerate compensation and land clearance, and develop plans to implement the remaining tasks in 2026. Đông Sơn commune was asked to soon determine specific land prices as a basis for approving compensation plans.
The project investor was required to develop a detailed implementation plan and coordinate closely with local authorities.
By the end of 2026, the province aims to hand over 360 hectares of the nearly 500-hectare VSIP Industrial Park II area to the investor for construction as planned.
