QUẢNG NGÃI – Quảng Ngãi Province is working to secure sufficient earth-fill materials for the development of technical infrastructure at VSIP I Quảng Ngãi Industrial Park, as the project faces difficulties related to land clearance and material supplies.
At a meeting on October 26, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền asked VSIP Quảng Ngãi Co., Ltd. to work proactively with licensed quarry operators to identify suitable sources, taking into account transportation distances, costs, material quality and construction schedules.
Located in Thọ Phong Commune, the VSIP I Quảng Ngãi project covers more than 559 hectares.
According to the developer, 88 per cent of its technical infrastructure has been completed, while construction on the remaining area of more than 64 hectares has yet to proceed due to compensation, site clearance and fill-material supply issues.
The company plans to complete the remaining infrastructure by the end of 2027, once site clearance has been completed.
More than 1.5 million cubic metres of hill soil will be required for ground levelling and infrastructure construction.
The remaining section of Road No. 7, which connects the industrial park with the Thạch Bích-Tịnh Phong road, is another outstanding component.
Of its total length of 2,170 metres, 1,733 metres have been completed, leaving 437 metres awaiting construction. The section requires an estimated 30,000 cubic metres of hill soil.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trần Phước Hiền delivers the concluding remarks at the meeting.
At the meeting, Hiền said reports from the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade and quarry operators indicated that fill-material supplies for the project could basically be secured.
He urged the developer to determine material requirements, quantities and delivery schedules for each construction phase to ensure effective procurement and timely implementation.
The provincial Department of Industry and Trade was tasked with coordinating with relevant agencies to guide and assist the company in accessing material sources in accordance with regulations.
The department was also asked to strengthen information sharing and promptly address emerging difficulties to ensure supplies meet the project's actual needs.
The provincial authorities said the coordinated efforts aim to facilitate infrastructure development and help maintain the project's construction schedule.
