Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Trần Phước Hiền chaired a meeting with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities
Quảng Ngãi– Quảng Ngãi is stepping up efforts to improve its investment and business climate and raise its Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), with a focus on administrative reform, better public services and stronger support for businesses.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Trần Phước Hiền chaired a meeting with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities on October 23 to review progress and implement measures to improve the province’s competitiveness.
According to the Provincial Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Centre, agencies responsible for individual PCI indicators have developed action plans under the Provincial People’s Committee’s Plan No. 334/KH-UBND, issued on September 7, 2026, for the 2026–2030 period.
From January 1 to October 19, 2026, the province recorded more than 1,340 newly established businesses, up over 16.3 per cent year-on-year, with total registered capital exceeding VNĐ11.029 trillion, an increase of 94.6 per cent.
More than 330 businesses resumed operations, up over 15 per cent from the same period last year.
Business registration procedures have also improved, with all applications processed on time and more than 85.4 per cent submitted online.
Digital transformation in public administration has continued, with online applications accounting for 83.4 per cent of administrative submissions at the provincial level and 94.9 per cent at the commune level.
The reuse of digitised data has also been expanded to reduce paperwork and facilitate administrative procedures.
At the meeting, Hiền stressed that PCI improvement must deliver tangible changes in the business environment rather than focus solely on rankings.
He called on departments and local authorities to fully implement their assigned tasks, strengthen coordination and regularly monitor progress.
Heads of agencies and localities must be held accountable for improvements in the indicators under their responsibility.
He also urged authorities to maintain regular dialogue with business associations, investors and enterprises to identify and promptly resolve difficulties.
Localities were asked to organise meetings with businesses and provide practical support tailored to their needs.
The province will continue to publicise policies and support programmes to help businesses access available assistance, improve their competitiveness and contribute to sustainable economic growth.
Quảng Ngãi aims to place its PCI among the country’s top 20 provinces and centrally governed cities by 2030, as part of broader efforts to improve governance quality and attract investment.
