On October 16, the PPC’s Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển chaired a meeting to review the Project on Forest Protection, Restoration and Sustainable Development in the Central Highlands – Quảng Ngãi Component.
PPC’s Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển
He highly valued the objectives of the KfW-funded Climate Change Adaptation Infrastructure Development Project, emphasizing its significance in improving the livelihoods of people in climate-affected areas.
The project, implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Environment, uses German Government loans and non-refundable ODA, together with domestic counterpart funds, with a total investment of around 20 million euros (over VNĐ 500 billion). It aims to enhance resilience to climate change, reduce disaster impacts, and develop sustainable socio-economic infrastructure, especially in coastal and flood-prone areas.
Planned for 2026–2030, the project will focus on constructing and upgrading drainage systems, river embankments, small reservoirs, roads, and flood control works, while strengthening local disaster and climate risk management capacity.
Vice Chairman Đỗ Tâm Hiển requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to carefully review project details and lessons from previous projects, address limitations, and ensure no loss of State forest assets.
He also assigned the Department of Finance, in coordination with relevant agencies, to finalize documents and complete procedures for investment policy approval in line with regulations.
