A Research and Survey Group for the upcoming 21st Party Congress documents meets with leaders of Dung Quat Authority

A Research and Survey Group in charge of developing documents for the upcoming 21st Party Congress, term 2025-2030 led by Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Cao Phuc, met with leaders of the Authority of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Parks (the Authority) on October 25.

The Group implemented research and survey in areas of industry, construction, urban areas, services and foreign affairs.

According to the Authority’s report, in the past 5 years, the economic development targets of the Economic Zone and Industrial Parks have exceeded expectations.

Investments totaling $5.6 billion have been attracted since 2021, with more projects expected to come in the next few years.

Currently, there are 349 valid projects with over $18 billion in registered investment capital with 256 projects under production and business operations, contributing significantly to industrial production, exports, services, and state budgets. This growth has led to the creation of 77,000 jobs by 2025.

Dung Quat Economic Zone has the advantage of the Dung Quat deep-water seaport system.

Currently, 5 general port systems have been formed, developed and put into use with the capacity to receive ships with a capacity of 70,000 DWT, and 5 specialized port systems with the capacity to receive ships with a capacity of up to 200,000 DWT.

The average annual cargo throughput of the port is about 40 million tons.

In Dung Quat Economic Zone and the province’s Industrial Parks, there are 67 commercial and service enterprises in operation.

On average, in the period of 2021-2025, the service industry grows by 15.8% per year.

The goal of Dung Quat Economic Zone is to become a diverse industrial development zone, focusing on petrochemical refining, energy, heavy industry, logistics, tourism, and services in Quang Ngai province and the Central Key Economic Region.

The targets include attracting 3-4 billion USD in investment, growing industrial production and services by 5.8% annually, reaching over 30,000 billion VND in budget revenue by 2030, achieving around 3 billion USD in export turnover, and creating more than 96,000 jobs.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Peoples Council, Nguyen Cao Phuc, praised the progress made in implementing goals from the 20th Provincial Party Congress in industrial development, construction, urban areas, and services in Dung Quat Economic Zone and industrial parks.

He highlighted the importance of these areas in driving the province's economic growth and asked for further analysis and proposals to support the upcoming 21st Provincial Party Congress.
