As part of voter meetings ahead of the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly (NA), Delegation No. 1 of the Quảng Ngãi Province NA Deputies led by Đinh Thị Phương Lan, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly’s Ethnic Council, met with local voters in Ba Vì Commune on October 9.
Attending the meeting were Y Thị Bích Thọ, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Việt Nam Fatherland Front Committee of Quảng Ngãi Province, Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and representatives from provincial departments and agencies.
At the meeting, Huỳnh Thị Ánh Sương, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the Provincial NA Deputies, briefed voters on the proposed agenda of the upcoming 10th session of the 15th National Assembly and key draft laws and resolutions to be discussed and adopted. She also reported on the delegation’s recent activities.
Local voters raised several issues of concern, including the need for recreational facilities for the elderly and sports grounds for young people to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent social evils.
They also requested fair compensation for land acquisition for hydropower projects and adjustments to allowances and preferential policies for revolution contributors, martyrs’ relatives, and wounded or sick soldiers to better reflect current living costs.
Voters also proposed that the Government and relevant ministries take stronger measures to stabilise prices of essential agricultural inputs such as fertilisers, pesticides, and animal feed.
Additionally, there should be policies to attract and retain talented human resources, especially in disadvantaged areas. Also, more funding should be allocated to upgrade schools and health stations in mountainous regions.
Voters also called for investment in the upgrade of National Highway 24.
Addressing the meeting, Vice Chairwoman Đinh Thị Phương Lan said the upcoming 10th session is expected to consider and approve 45 draft laws and resolutions aimed at further improving the legal system, promoting decentralisation, advancing science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, and ensuring national defence and security for rapid and sustainable development.
She also clarified several issues raised by voters within her competence and affirmed that all opinions and recommendations would be compiled and forwarded to competent authorities for review and resolution in due course.
