This is an event of special significance, marking an important step after Quảng Ngãi and Kon Tum completed the merger and officially operated the new government apparatus.
The forum is expected to contribute to shaping Quảng Ngãi's tourism development strategy in the new period.
Phạm Thị Trung, Director of the Quảng Ngãi DoCST, said that even before the merger, both provinces had built their tourism brands, leaving a deep impression on the hearts of domestic and international tourists.
Tourism has become an important economic sector, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, creating a stable source of income for local people, especially ethnic minorities, she added.
After the merger, Quảng Ngãi owns extremely rich tourism resources, harmoniously combining the sea and islands, mountains, forests, and highlands with unique traditional cultural values.
The province has many beautiful destinations, such as Lý Sơn Island, Mỹ Khê Beach, Sa Huỳnh, and unique ecological and cultural tourism destinations from Kon Tum, such as Măng Đen, Pa Sỹ Waterfall, Ngọc Linh Mountain, and community cultural villages.
“The province determines that the new apparatus needs to be quickly put into operation and promote efficiency from the early days. Therefore, immediately after its establishment, the DoCST actively organized this seminar, hoping that this would be an opportunity to see more clearly the potential and strengths of Quảng Ngãi tourism after the merger, and listen to and receive initiatives, ideas to build a long-term tourism development strategy, meeting the trend of sustainable development," said Phạm Thị Trung.
Prioritizing the development of Lý Sơn and Măng Đen
Speaking at the seminar, Y Ngọc, Standing Vice Chairwoman of Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee, said that in the coming time, the province will focus on directing several key tasks to create a breakthrough for the tourism industry.
She also added that the province will prioritize the development of Lý Sơn Island to become a unique sea and island tourism center, and build Măng Đen Tourism Area to become a national-level ecological and resort destination.
The province will promote the development of inter-regional tourism, diversify products, and make the most of geographical and cultural advantages, she said.

Additionally, the province will focus on applying technology, promoting digital transformation in tourism promotion and management, building a separate tourism brand, and gradually affirming Quảng Ngãi's position on the domestic and international tourism map.
"All tourism development orientations must be closely associated with cultural preservation, environmental protection, and improvement of people’s lives, especially ethnic minorities. People must become the center and be the direct beneficiaries of the sustainable development of the tourism industry," emphasized Y Ngọc.
On this occasion, the DoCST announced the hotline 0946.888.225, which is directly operated and managed by the Tourism Management Department, aiming to receive feedback and suggestions from people and businesses on issues related to tourism activities.
