On the morning of 16 November, Quảng Ngãi province commenced construction of inter-level primary and lower secondary boarding schools in four land-border communes: Mô Rai, Dục Nông, Rờ Kơi and Sa Loong. These are the first projects implemented under the policy to develop boarding schools in all nine border communes.

Attending the ceremony in Dục Nông commune were Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Lê Tấn Dũng; Deputy Minister of Ethnic and Religious Affairs Y Thông; and a delegation of the National Assembly.
Provincial leaders included Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hồ Văn Niên; former Secretary of Kon Tum Provincial Party Committee Dương Văn Trang; Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang; and representatives of provincial departments, localities, teachers, and students.

The groundbreaking marks an important political, social, and humanitarian milestone in implementing the Politburo’s Conclusion No. 81-TB/TW (18 July 2025) and the Government’s Resolution No. 298/NQ-CP (26 September 2025) on investing in schools for border areas.
The Dục Nông inter-level boarding school project includes 47 classrooms for about 1,600 students, together with dormitories, teachers’ housing, a library, sports facilities, canteen, and supporting infrastructure. The project is expected to significantly improve educational access and conditions for local students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình emphasized that these projects reflect the Party and State’s strong commitment to education in remote and border areas. He commended Quảng Ngãi for its efforts in planning, surveying, and preparing for the projects, and requested strict compliance with regulations to ensure quality, safety, and timely completion.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang affirmed that investing in schools for border areas is an investment in future generations, contributing to equitable education, human resource development, and strengthened border security. Quảng Ngãi commits to mobilizing all resources to ensure the projects become model schools and new highlights of the provincial education sector.

On this occasion, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hòa Bình presented a statue of President Hồ Chí Minh to the Dục Nông school and donated 1,600 winter jackets to outstanding students.

At the Mô Rai site, General Trần Quang Phương - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly - together with the National Assembly delegation and leaders of Military Region 5 attended the groundbreaking ceremony of the Mô Rai inter-level boarding school. Provincial representatives included Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee U Huấn and leaders of provincial departments.

The Mô Rai inter-level boarding school will comprise 30 classrooms for about 1,300 students, with new facilities including dormitories, a teachers’ service area, dining hall, multi-purpose building, sports ground, and technical infrastructure.
