Quảng Ngãi - Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, together with Vice Chairpersons Y Ngọc, Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, and Trần Phước Hiền, on Tuesday, August 12 chaired the July 2025 regular meeting to review socio-economic performance in July and the first seven months of the year, and to set key tasks for August and the remainder of 2025.
The meeting was attended by PPC members and leaders of provincial departments and agencies.
Department leader reports workloads so far the year
In July, the PPC focused on consolidating its organizational apparatus, ensuring smooth operations, maintaining political and administrative stability, fostering public consensus on the recent provincial merger, and safeguarding security and order.
The province took strong measures to address bottlenecks and mobilize resources for growth.
As a result, industrial production continued to recover, with most key products increasing compared to the same period last year.
The industrial production index rose 3.93 per cent from the previous month.
Trade and services remained vibrant, with retail sales, consumer services, transportation, warehousing, and tourism all recording growth.
Health services, social welfare, public security, and administrative reforms were effectively implemented.
Over the first seven months, industrial production maintained growth; the average consumer price index rose 3.08 per cent.
Retail sales and consumer service revenue reached an estimated VNĐ 76.583 trillion, up 13.65 per cent, or 60.6 per cent of the annual plan.
Export turnover achieved 45.5 per cent of the target, imports increased by 10.9 per cent (53.4 per cent of the plan), and transport-related services generated over VNĐ 8.893 trillion, up 19.19 per cent.
Tourist arrivals were estimated at 2.945 million, up 11 per cent, meeting 60 per cent of the yearly plan.
Public investment capital for 2025 was VNĐ 9.438 trillion, with disbursement as of July 31 estimated at VNĐ 4.538 trillion (58 per cent of the central government’s allocation).
Chairman Giang acknowledged the efforts and achievements
Concluding the meeting, Chairman Giang acknowledged the efforts and results achieved in the context of the recent merger, but emphasized that the final months of 2025 are a decisive period.
He called for stronger, more coordinated actions to meet assigned targets—focusing on sustaining growth, boosting revenue, ensuring social welfare, maintaining political stability and security, accelerating public investment disbursement, supporting production and business, and preparing for major political and cultural events.
