Provincial leaders lay wreaths and offer incense in tribute to the heroes and martyrs
QUẢNG NGÃI — Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Đức Tâm on August 29 paid tribute to fallen heroes at the Kon Tum Martyrs’ Cemetery in Đăk Cấm Ward ahead of the 81st anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945–2026).
The ceremony was attended by Y Ngọc, Member of the Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and representatives of provincial departments, agencies and Đăk Cấm Ward.
In a solemn atmosphere, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm and the delegation laid wreaths and offered incense in tribute to the heroes and martyrs who are resting at the Kon Tum Martyrs’ Cemetery.
The ceremony was held to commemorate and honor generations of Vietnamese people who sacrificed their lives for national independence, liberation and reunification.
Standing before the memorial, the delegation observed a minute of silence in remembrance of the fallen heroes and expressed deep gratitude for their great sacrifices.
The tribute reflected the traditional Vietnamese principle of “when drinking water, remember its source”, honoring those who devoted their lives to the country and contributed to the cause of national liberation and reunification.
Following the ceremony, Chairman Nguyễn Đức Tâm and the delegation personally offered incense at individual graves at the cemetery.
The activity formed part of a series of commemorative activities in Quảng Ngãi marking the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, while reaffirming the province’s commitment to preserving and promoting the tradition of gratitude and remembrance.
It also served as an opportunity for current generations to reflect on the sacrifices made for national independence and peace, and to strengthen their sense of responsibility for building and protecting the country in the new period.
