Provincial leaders review the progress of the Coastal Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area and the Eastern Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area projects
QUẢNG NGÃI — Quảng Ngãi is stepping up efforts to remove bottlenecks and accelerate two major urban development projects with a combined investment of more than VNĐ12.7 trillion.
Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng chaired a meeting on September 8 with relevant departments, agencies and local authorities to review the progress of the Coastal Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area and the Eastern Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area projects.
The Coastal Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area project, located in Tư Nghĩa Commune, covers more than 93.9 hectares and has a total investment of over VNĐ7.1 trillion.
The project received in-principle investment approval in August 2023 and investor approval in December 2023.
The Eastern Quảng Ngãi Eco-Urban Area project covers an expected land-use area of about 1 million square metres and has a total investment of more than VNĐ5.59 trillion.
The provincial authorities approved the investor selection results in June 2026.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng asked provincial departments and local authorities to take greater responsibility, proactively coordinate with investors and promptly address difficulties within their jurisdiction.
He also called for closer coordination in securing construction materials, particularly for projects with large material requirements.
Relevant agencies were asked to diversify supply sources, identify suitable mineral sites, increase production capacity and study solutions for recycling construction materials.

For the Coastal Quảng Ngãi project, Tư Nghĩa Commune was requested to continue mobilizing households that have received compensation but have yet to hand over their land, as well as organizations and individuals using land managed by the commune, to complete site handover in September 2026.
For the Eastern Quảng Ngãi project, the investor was asked to urgently finalize the detailed planning scheme.
The Department of Construction will coordinate the appraisal process to complete the necessary procedures.
The province will also review and arrange resettlement land to serve the project and local development needs.
The Department of Construction was assigned to strengthen its role as the focal agency for monitoring residential and urban development projects and hold monthly meetings with investors to review progress and resolve emerging difficulties.
Provincial departments, local authorities and investors were urged to strengthen information sharing and coordination, accelerate delayed tasks and create favorable conditions for the projects to proceed on schedule.
The projects are expected to contribute to expanding urban development space and creating new momentum for Quảng Ngãi’s socio-economic growth.
