QUẢNG NGÃI, Oct 1 – Authorities in Quảng Ngãi province on Wednesday said they have been boosting disaster preparedness measures for 2025, focusing on the “four on-the-spot” principle of local command, manpower, equipment and logistics.
Vice Chairman Trần Phước Hiền of the provincial People’s Committee chaired a meeting with agencies and eastern communes to review readiness plans.
The province has installed 99 automatic rainfall stations, 11 automatic water level stations on major rivers and reservoirs, and six flood warning stations, with five more to be added in October.
A provincial disaster management database has also been launched at https://csdlpctt.quangngai.gov.vn, providing flood maps, monitoring data and early warning tools, alongside social media channels for real-time updates.
Local authorities have set up civil defence committees, rapid-response teams and evacuation plans, while stockpiling supplies and equipment.
Hiền urged officials to strengthen on-the-ground leadership and tighten monitoring of weather patterns, dam operations, electricity networks and key infrastructure to ensure safety during storms and floods.
