Ho Chi Minh City signs medical cooperation with provinces in the Central Coast region

On October 10, in Quy Nhon city, Binh Dinh province, the Conference to sign a cooperation agreement between the Health sector of Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces and cities of the Central Coast region for the period 2024-2025 took place.

The agreement was made within the framework of the Conference to review one year of implementing the Agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces of the Central Coast region.

The signing of the cooperation agreement aims to increase the effectiveness of disease prevention and control, build and develop a specialized medical network from end-level hospitals to grassroots medical facilities, from Ho Chi Minh City to provinces and cities in the Central Coast region.

It will also help cooperate in building a regional-scale medical specialized network,, sharing experiences in state management in the health sector, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment in the locality, reducing the burden on major hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, and helping people save money, and access high-quality medical services.

According to the agreement, Ho Chi Minh City will support the provinces in strengthening disease surveillance and warning, timely sharing information between the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control and the Centers for Disease Control of the provinces and cities in the region. In addition, there will be cooperation in technology transfer between end-line hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City and hospitals and medical facilities in the Central Coast provinces. Moreover, a regional-scale medical specialized network will be developed.

On this occasion, the Departments of Health of eight provinces and cities in the Central Coast region including Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and development with the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City and the Centers for Disease Control of the provinces and cities in the Central Coast region also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation and improve the effectiveness of disease prevention and control between localities.
