On August 10, Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Y Ngọc, together with leaders of relevant departments and agencies, inspected preparations for the new school year at educational institutions in Kon Tum Ward.

The delegation visited the Kon Tum - Sa Thầy Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center, Nguyễn Sinh Sắc Secondary School, Thủy Tiên Kindergarten and Kon Tum Ethnic Minority Boarding High School.
Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc praised the schools’ proactive preparations and asked them to complete all remaining tasks before August 20, ensuring adequate conditions for teaching and learning, particularly accommodation, meals and daily activities for students from ethnic minority groups.
She urged the schools to clean and improve their campuses, review classrooms and functional rooms, and ensure water safety, environmental sanitation and food safety at school kitchens. The Departments of Health and Education and Training were asked to guide, inspect and urge schools to strictly comply with health and safety requirements.

The Vice Chairwoman also requested schools to effectively manage and use existing facilities and equipment, review and repurpose unused rooms, and liquidate or reallocate surplus equipment in accordance with regulations to prevent waste. Social resources should also be mobilized to improve school facilities and students’ learning and living conditions.
Regarding education quality, she called for reviewing and strengthening teaching staff, arranging personnel appropriately, and continuing to innovate teaching, testing and assessment methods. Schools should also strengthen education in life and communication skills, local history and culture, career orientation, and the application of information technology in management, teaching and learning.
