On August 11, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm chaired a meeting with Quảng Ngãi General Hospital 2 and Kon Tum Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital to review their performance over the first seven months of 2026 and set key tasks for the coming period.

According to the Department of Health, Quảng Ngãi General Hospital 2 has 31 departments, five functional units and 732 staff members. In the first seven months of 2026, the hospital provided care for 192,119 outpatient visits and 27,859 inpatient cases, with a bed occupancy rate of 96.43 per cent.
The hospital has also accelerated digital transformation, including the implementation of Project 06. It has fully connected electronic death certificates, birth certificates and driver’s health certificates, while 100 per cent of prescriptions have been issued and connected electronically.
The electronic medical record system has been officially in use since September 2025, with more than 95 per cent of forms digitized.

Kon Tum Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital has provided care for 2,137 patients, including 969 outpatients and 576 inpatients since the beginning of the year. Its bed occupancy rate remains low at 23.8 per cent. The hospital continues to combine traditional and modern medicine with rehabilitation services and develop electronic health records.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm acknowledged the efforts of the health sector and the two hospitals in maintaining healthcare services despite difficulties. He asked the hospitals to proactively innovate, improve service quality and make better use of their infrastructure, human resources and professional capacity, with patient satisfaction as a key measure.

The Vice Chairman assigned the Department of Health to coordinate with the Department of Finance and relevant agencies to comprehensively review the operational needs and resources of healthcare facilities.
The Department of Finance is to consolidate the findings and report to the Provincial People’s Committee by August 30, 2026.
He also requested that the health sector accelerate approved and funded projects, review urgent investment needs for facilities and medical equipment, and prioritize essential equipment based on actual needs and available resources.
The Department of Health was asked to urgently complete plans for organizational restructuring, workforce arrangements and policies to attract high-quality medical personnel, while coordinating with relevant agencies to remove difficulties and help the two hospitals improve their operations and better meet the people’s healthcare needs.
