On July 22, Vice Chairman of the Quảng Ngãi Provincial People's Committee Đỗ Tâm Hiển signed Official Dispatch No. 7167/UBND-NNMT directing provincial departments, agencies, local authorities and relevant organizations to implement Government Decree No. 268/2026/NĐ-CP, dated July 1, 2026, on agricultural extension services across the province.

Under the directive, the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DoAE) has been assigned as the lead agency to advise the Provincial People's Committee on implementing the decree. The DoAE will coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to disseminate the decree's provisions to state management agencies, public service units, enterprises, cooperatives, community agricultural extension groups and individuals engaged in agricultural extension activities.
The DoAE is also responsible for reviewing and updating the province's agricultural extension programs and plans, proposing amendments to relevant policies and regulations to ensure consistency with the new decree, preparing annual funding plans, mobilizing resources, and promoting digital transformation, technology transfer and innovative agricultural extension models.
The Department of Finance will coordinate in allocating and managing funding for agricultural extension activities, while the Department of Justice will review and appraise relevant legal documents. The Department of Science and Technology will support research, innovation, technology transfer and digital transformation in agricultural extension.
The Provincial People's Committee also called on the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Provincial Cooperative Alliance to strengthen public awareness, encourage participation in agricultural extension programs, expand value-chain production models and improve the effectiveness of agricultural cooperatives.
People's Committees of communes, wards and special administrative zones were instructed to disseminate the decree, develop agricultural extension plans suited to local conditions, integrate available resources, expand effective extension models, strengthen monitoring and evaluation, and regularly report implementation results to the Department of Agriculture and Environment in accordance with regulations.
