QUẢNG NGÃI — The provincial OCOP Advisory Team on Monday, December 8 conducted an appraisal session to review dossiers and evaluate products with potential to achieve a 3–5 star rating in the second round of the 2025 One Commune One Product (OCOP) programme.
The team assessed 33 food and beverage products submitted by 11 producers from communes including Ia Tơi, Kon Đào, Sa Loong, Kon Braih, Đăk Rve, Đăk Kôi, Vạn Tường, as well as Đăk Cấm and Đức Phổ wards, and the Lý Sơn special zone.
Among these, 11 products were proposed for upgrading from 3-star to 4-star status, 20 were newly developed products, and two 3-star products that had expired their rating were re-evaluated and considered for upgrading to 4-star status.
The appraisal focused on criteria such as production processes and quality standards. The Advisory Team also guided product owners on completing and supplementing their dossiers.
After this step, the dossiers will be submitted to the provincial OCOP Evaluation and Classification Council for official scoring and certification.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, more than six years after the province launched the OCOP programme, a total of 643 certified products remain valid, including two 5-star products, 55 4-star products and 586 3-star products.
The province’s OCOP ecosystem has expanded significantly, now comprising 320 producers: 52 enterprises with 199 products, 107 cooperatives with 200 products, 158 business households with 241 products, and three cooperative groups with three products.
Provincial OCOP products mainly fall into the categories of food (468 products), beverages (130), herbal products (30), handicrafts, ornamental creatures and community-based tourism services.
