Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng concludes the working session

Quảng Ngãi, October 10 – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng has called for stronger efforts to accelerate the implementation of key transport projects, stressing the need to resolve site clearance bottlenecks and ensure construction progress, quality and safety.

He made the request at a meeting on October 10 to review the progress of four projects: the Thạch Bích Bridge–Tinh Phong connecting road, the Hoàng Sa–Dốc Sỏi Road, the Dung Quất–Sa Huỳnh coastal road and an emergency project to address coastal erosion in An Vĩnh and Kỳ Xuyên villages in Tịnh Khê Commune.

Nguyễn Công Hoàng said the projects play an important role in the province’s socio-economic development.

Although implementation has made positive progress, compensation and site clearance remain major challenges.

He asked relevant departments, local authorities and project owners to treat the projects as a top priority through the end of 2026, with the aim of completing site handover in October and November.

Project owners were also urged to work closely with relevant agencies, closely monitor contractors and speed up construction while ensuring quality and safety.

He stressed that construction progress must not come at the expense of quality and that contractors responsible for delays or a lack of accountability would face strict action.

Project owners and contractors were also instructed to prepare plans to cope with natural disasters during the rainy and stormy season, particularly for the urgent coastal erosion control project in Tịnh Khê Commune.

Regarding individual projects, the Thạch Bích Bridge–Tịnh Phong connecting road, with a total investment of more than VNĐ694 billion, has completed 54.6 per cent of its contracted construction volume, while site clearance has reached 90 per cent.

The VNĐ3.5 trillion Hòang Sa–Dốc Sỏi Road, stretching 26.88 km through six communes and wards, has achieved 87.5 per cent site handover.

Construction progress has reached 41.1 per cent of the contracted value, with shortages of fill materials and rising site clearance costs among the major challenges.

For the Dung Quất–Sa Huỳnh coastal road, Phase IIa, Component 1, site handover has reached 95 per cent, while construction progress stands at 91.8 per cent of the contracted value.

The province aims to complete site clearance before October 30 and open the entire route to traffic in 2026.

Meanwhile, Phase IIb of the coastal road has achieved 92.3 per cent of its contracted construction volume, with most site clearance completed.

The coastal erosion control project in Tịnh Khê Commune, with a total investment of VNĐ80 billion, is continuing construction to protect vulnerable coastal areas.

The Provincial People’s Committee has called on all relevant agencies and units to step up coordination, remove outstanding obstacles and accelerate disbursement of the 2026 public investment capital while ensuring the effective and safe implementation of these key projects.
