Quảng Ngãi, October 10 – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Công Hoàng has called for accelerated site clearance and construction of key projects in the urban core of the province’s eastern urban centre.

He made the request at a meeting with relevant departments and agencies on October 10 to review five projects: Thạch Bích Green Park; the new urban area for resettlement in the second phase of the dike area; Chu Văn An Road and its residential area; the residential area south of Hai Bà Trưng Road (Phase 1); and Trà Bồng Khởi Nghĩa Road.

According to the Provincial Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board, Thạch Bích Green Park covers approximately 8.1 hectares, with a total investment of VNĐ900 billion.

The first phase of site handover has covered nearly 1.2 hectares, and contractors are preparing equipment and materials for construction. However, compensation and site clearance remain challenging due to unresolved land-origin and land-use documentation.

The new urban area for resettlement in the second phase of the dike area covers about 8.2 hectares, with 317 resettlement lots and a total investment of more than VNĐ 296 billion.

Three construction packages have been launched, but their contracts have expired, some work remains unfinished, and 0.6 hectares of land have yet to be handed over.

Chu Văn An Road and its associated residential area have a total investment of more than VNĐ220 billion, including a 376.2-metre road and a 6.82-hectare residential area.

Meanwhile, the first phase of the residential area south of Hai Bà Trưng Road has an investment of more than VNĐ246.5 billion and covers approximately 12.9 hectares, comprising 414 land lots.

Work is underway to review outstanding construction volumes, complete contractual procedures and select contractors for the remaining work.

Trà Bồng Khởi Nghĩa Road, with an investment of VNĐ65 billion, includes a 323-metre road and a resettlement area. Construction began in September 2026 and is proceeding on sections where land has been handed over.

Vice Chairman Nguyễn Công Hoàng acknowledged the efforts of project owners, relevant agencies and local authorities in addressing compensation and site clearance issues.

He urged them to strengthen coordination, resolve outstanding obstacles and promptly hand over land to contractors to ensure construction progress and the disbursement of allocated public investment funds.

For Thạch Bích Green Park, he requested that compensation, support and resettlement plans be urgently approved in October 2026.

For the remaining projects, local authorities were asked to complete site clearance as soon as possible, while project owners must mobilise machinery and equipment immediately after receiving cleared land to prevent encroachment.

Emphasising the importance of these projects to the development of the province’s eastern urban centre, Nguyễn Công Hoàng called for clear assignments, deadlines, responsibilities and measurable results, with the aim of completing the projects as soon as possible.
