Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang meets with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber
QUẢNG NGÃI — A delegation from Quảng Ngãi Province, led by Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, held a working session with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) during its official visit to Austria, aiming to expand bilateral cooperation in investment, renewable energy, workforce development and maritime logistics.
Receiving the delegation, Phillipp Winkler, Regional Director for Asia-Pacific at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, welcomed the province's efforts to strengthen economic ties with Austrian partners.
Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang introduced Quảng Ngãi's investment potential, highlighting the Dung Quất Economic Zone as a multi-sector industrial hub offering attractive incentives on land use and taxation.
The Dung Quất Economic Zone is currently home to 440 valid investment projects with a combined registered capital of nearly US$19.5 billion, including a number of foreign-invested projects from various countries and territories, among them Austria.
He also noted that the VSIP Quảng Ngãi Integrated Industrial-Urban-Service Complex is being expanded through VSIP II, which is expected to attract more high-tech and environmentally friendly manufacturing projects.
Looking ahead, the provincial leader expressed his hope that the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber would continue supporting Quảng Ngãi in developing a highly skilled workforce, connecting the province with global partners and investors, and promoting investment in renewable energy projects, including wind and solar power.
He also called for stronger cooperation in maritime transport and port development to capitalise on the advantages of Dung Quất Deep-water Port, as well as greater exchanges of expertise and training in renewable energy to support the province's long-term socio-economic development.

At the meeting, representatives of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber shared Austria's experience in energy transition, tourism development, innovation and human resource training.
They also introduced successful models of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises applying technology to improve productivity and competitiveness, along with workforce training programmes.
The Chamber noted that Austria is currently cooperating with several Vietnamese localities to provide German-language training programmes that include tuition support, travel subsidies and guaranteed employment upon graduation.
The programmes focus on nursing, information technology, hospitality and tourism management.
