Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Y Ngọc, inspected flood damage and ongoing recovery efforts in Đăk Plô Commune on November 4 morning.

During the field trip, the Vice Chairwoman and her working delegation surveyed the landslide area near Đăk Pam Bridge – the route connecting to Sông Thanh Border Guard Station.

From the bridge to the station, 16 landslide points were recorded, cutting off traffic and posing serious safety risks.

The delegation also examined several other landslide sites affecting six nearby villages, where residents have been facing difficulties in travel, daily activities, and  transportation of goods.

Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc requested local authorities and relevant forces to promptly install warning signs, restrict access to dangerous areas, and urgently develop solutions to restore temporary traffic routes.

She also called for the delivery of essential goods to both local residents and frontline workers.

Additionally, she directed agencies to review the entire route, detect new landslide risks, and propose timely response measures to ensure safety.

On the same morning, the Vice Chairwoman visited several schools in Đăk Plô Commune to inspect post-flood recovery efforts and present gifts to teachers and students.

The commune currently has six schools, with Đăk Man Primary and Lower Secondary School suffering the most severe damage, as mud, rocks, and debris flooded the schoolyard, disrupting classes for several days. In the aftermath of the floods, teachers, parents, and students actively joined cleanup efforts to help resume teaching and learning as soon as possible.

At the inspection, Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc praised the proactive spirit and collaboration of the education sector and local residents in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.

She urged schools to ensure absolute safety for students, particularly at campuses near landslide-prone areas, while maintaining hygiene and food safety at boarding kitchens to help students in mountainous areas feel secure returning to class.

On this occasion, Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc presented essential goods — including instant noodles, rice, cooking oil, and milk — to the schools, as a timely encouragement to teachers and students striving to recover from the floods and resume normal schooling.
