On the afternoon of October 15, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm chaired a meeting to review the progress of the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas.
According to the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, during the 2021–2025 period, the total allocated capital for the program in Quảng Ngãi Province is over VNĐ 5.6 trillion, including VNĐ 5.088 trillion from the central budget and VNĐ 516 billion from the local budget.
As of August 31, 2025, more than VNĐ 3.1 trillion has been disbursed.
The funding has been allocated to key priorities such as essential infrastructure, production development, livelihood improvement, grassroots capacity building, gender equality, and social welfare in ethnic and mountainous communities.
Additionally, more than VNĐ 580 billion in policy credit funds has been mobilized to support housing, farmland, clean water, and value-chain development for agricultural and herbal products in ethnic minority areas.
At the meeting, representatives from provincial departments and localities discussed challenges in implementing the program, noting delays and overlaps in central-level policy issuance and inconsistent regulations that hinder progress.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm requested departments and localities to promptly review obstacles and report to competent authorities for resolution.
He emphasized the need for close coordination, experience sharing, and effective capital allocation to accelerate disbursement and maximize the impact of investment resources.
