Quảng Ngãi, July 9 - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyễn Hoàng Giang, chaired the regular June meeting to review socio-economic performance in June and the first half of 2025, and to set out key tasks for the remainder of the year.
Attending the meeting were Standing Vice Chairwoman Y Ngọc, Vice Chairmen Nguyễn Ngọc Sâm and Trần Phước Hiền, provincial leaders, and department heads.
The hybrid-format meeting connected 96 local points across communes, wards, and the special administrative zone.
In the first six months of 2025, the province saw positive socio-economic results.
The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) rose by 11.51 per cent year-on-year—the highest growth among 34 provinces and cities nationwide. Industrial production increased significantly, with the pre-merger Quảng Ngãi up by 18.67 per cent and Kon Tum by 12.9 per cent.
Retail sales, transport, warehousing, and logistics services all grew compared to the same period last year.
Agriculture remained stable, with key crops maintained, seafood catch and reforested areas increased, and livestock diseases well-controlled.
State budget revenue rose 0.6 per cent year-on-year, reaching 45.9 per cent of the annual target. Public investment disbursement exceeded the national average. Total social investment increased by 4.9 per cent, fulfilling 61.8 per cent of the annual plan.
The cultural and social sectors maintained stability. The province achieved 100 per cent of its target to eliminate temporary and substandard housing. Tourism showed strong recovery with a 17 per cent increase in visitors and 42.8 per cent growth in revenue.
Poverty reduction and social welfare policies were implemented effectively.
Administrative reform and digital transformation progressed across all areas. Government reorganization was completed on time, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted operations. National defense and public security remained strong.
At the meeting, delegates discussed challenges and proposed practical solutions to meet socio-economic goals for the second half of the year.
Leaders of communes, wards, and the special zone also reported their results and proposed measures for better implementation.
Chairman Nguyễn Hoàng Giang praised the efforts of all levels and sectors, noting the province’s leading growth rate. However, he emphasized the need to address remaining limitations.
He called for coordinated action to boost economic growth and build detailed growth scenarios, ensuring public investment disbursement reaches 100 per cent, and state revenue collection improves.
He also urged to focus on completing key tasks set by the Provincial Party Committee and the Government, advancing administrative reform, strengthening digital transformation, and promoting sustainable tourism tied to cultural heritage.
